lolita fashion
a little self introduction: i have been wearing lolita fashion since autumn of 2006 (let's ignore some unfortunate attempts in 2005 with costume shop petticoats and blouse from kohl's ^^;). i like to say that i have been wearing lolita since "old school lolita" was just "lolita." (lol) i got my first brand piece for christmas of 2007, innocent world's floral flocked jsk in lavender, which was on clearance at the time. i sold my original one years ago, but was recently able to get a replacement!
my favorite styles are old school and contemporary sweet, but i dabble a little in some of the more "soft" classic-gothic offered by alice and the pirates. my absolute favorite brands are baby, the stars shine bright and angelic pretty. i love ocean and animal themed prints, and i'm very fond of old school pieces with unique textured fabric, such as karami and velvet. i also have a fondness for any floral prints featuring flower species other than roses.
i used to participate a lot in online communities when we all used livejournal, a bit less so during the facebook era, and now i only participate in two lolita related discord servers- lolibrary, and the local comm server for the next city over from where i live. i don't participate in IRL events with my local comm, and sadly only occasional in-person events at the next city over. i've been too busy to travel even locally lately. i am in the process of moving to tokyo japan, and hope to participate in more local events there! i also really want to attend some more meetups in the next city over before i leave the US; that community is really fun and pleasant, and i'm going to miss them a lot.
the other lolita related discord server in which i participate, is the one for lolibrary! i contribute to entries on the site as well, primarily trying to document older pieces by tracking them down on shop blogs and social media. i also love to photograph lesser known pieces to contribute higher resolution photos to existing entries :) my favorite channel in the lolibrary server is item identification, as it's fun to solve the puzzle on some unkown pieces!
thank you for reading; i have posted my wardrobe below for your exploration. ♡
note: none of these items are currently for sale; please do not contact me about purchasing them.
